Strive To Be A Lifelong Learner

Learning can be defined as, “A persisting change in human performance or performance potential…[which] must come about as a result of the learner’s experience and interaction with the world.”
From Psychology of Learning for Instruction by M. Driscoll

A mind only becomes old and begins to decay or lose its true potential when it stops growing and being used to learn something new.  A true lifelong learner will seek out opportunity to learn something new or improve already attained skills.  They thrive in the process of becoming more which occurs when an individual seeks to take part in the learning process.

Striving to be a lifelong learner myself I encourage everyone to also work towards becoming one as well because each day then brings about a new adventure or opportunity to expand upon who one is and become better today than they were yesterday and even better tomorrow then they are today.  Let your learning journey continue until your life journey ends.

This reminds me of my dad, but in a good way because he is still vibrant.

After working for 30 years as a factory worker, he retired and started his own business doing something completely different. I think he did that for another 15 years before fully retiring to playing golf and games on his IPAD.
